Who’s Got Your Back?

Are you feeling discouraged as you wait for God to answer your prayers? I’ve talked to many who are faithfully praying and believing God to intervene in their circumstances, but are feeling defeated by the lack of forward motion. With fear in their hearts, they wonder, “What else can I do? Will a breakthrough ever come?”

My anchor of faith in the ongoing and uncertain storms of life is found in the words God speaks to the Israelites just before He miraculously creates a pathway through the Red Sea:

Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today.

The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm. (Exodus 14: 13,14)

No matter how impossible our circumstances, no matter how long we’ve waited for an answer to our prayers, our God reminds us that fear, worry and panic have no place in His powerful presence.

The Lord is a Warrior and He personally and powerfully promises to fight for us! We are not responsible for rescuing ourselves or our loved ones. Victory is in His hands!

The One who secured our salvation, who defends our honor, who surrounds us with His protection and makes a way through our most impossible circumstances, He’s the One who’s got our back!

Can you imagine just for a moment Jesus holding your face in His hands as He looks directly into your eyes and says: “I’ve got this! Don’t you worry about a thing!”

In these uncertain times, when it sometimes seems our world is shaking out of control, our eternal hope is never shaken. Our God who is Mighty to Save is completely in control of all things!

God is on our side and He’s got our back! Therefore, no matter how long we have to wait for answers to prayer, we can live bravely and faithfully just as He commands: Be strong and Courageous. Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go! (Joshua 1:9)

Even as I consider the difficulties my three daughters are facing and the hardships and troubles rampant in this world, I’m deeply comforted by the Truth that The King of kings and Lord of lords rules an unshakable and eternal kingdom!

When our souls are weary from the battle may we find unshakable peace and hope in the certain and ultimate victory of our Lord. Our rest and hope are found in God alone. He is our rock and our salvation; he is our fortress, we will NOT be shaken! (Psalm 62:5-6)

The battle is the Lord’s! He’s on your side and He’s got your back!
