Statement of Faith
The Bible
I believe the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is God's Word and is inspired and inerrant in its original writings. I believe the teaching of the Bible is the supreme and final authority for faith and life.
The Godhead
I believe the Godhead eternally exists in three divine Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. They are One in deity, unity and essence, yet distinct in their work and activity.
Jesus Christ
I believe Jesus Christ is the perfect, sinless, virgin-born Son of God. Through His shed blood and death on the cross, He made possible the atonement for our sins. I believe He was literally and bodily raised from the dead and ascended into heaven where He is now seated at the right hand of God, interceding for us. I believe He will one day visibly and personally return to earth in power, judgment, and great glory.
Salvation
I believe that Salvation is by grace, a free gift of God apart from works. Salvation is through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and all who recieve Jesus as their Lord will become children of God and will one day be ushered into heaven as their eternal home.
Hope for the Weary
My soul is weary with sorrow, strengthen me according to your word (Psalm 119:28). I’m immensely grateful for the tender ways the Lord responds to the cries of our aching hearts.
The righteous cry out and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:17-18)
Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (Lam 3:21-23)
Come to me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)
Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things you could never figure out on your own. (Jeremiah 33:3 MSG)
